There’s no shortage of great activities to do in and around Oceanside – kayaking, hiking, hang gliding, surfing, clamming, crabbing, fishing, tide pooling, cave exploring, whale watching, and of course, taking long walks on the beach. But here are some links to some family favorites:

The Tillamook Cheese Factoryhttp://www.tillamook.com/cheesefactory/index.html
Know your cheeses? Want to know them? Sample an amazing selection of delicious cheeses, grab a cone of world-class ice cream, and get a bird’s-eye view of an awe-inducing cheese belt system. Pro tip: Grab some “squeaky cheese” for the road.

Cape Meares Lighthouse & Wildlife Refugehttp://capemeareslighthouse.org/
Visit Oregon’s largest Sitka Spruce, the Octopus Tree, and an awesome (and possibly haunted) lighthouse. Enjoy great ocean views – and if you’re lucky – watch some whales play.

Tillamook Air Museumhttp://www.tillamookair.com/
Let out a “They don’t build them like they used to” in this museum’s 40s/50s themed cafe after checking out their beautiful collection of warbirds like the P-38 Lightning. Don’t fail to notice that you’re standing in the largest wooden structure in the world!

Three Capes Scenic Drivehttp://pacificcity.org/3capes/drive.html
There are few stretches of coast in the world as beautiful as this 40-mile drive. Along the way there’s plenty of great hiking and exploring to be done, look out for sea lions and bring your binoculars if you’re into birding!

And please don’t forget Roseanna’s Cafe, within walking distance of the cabin: http://www.roseannascafe.com/
